Important - Make sure the text on the page is not reduced to a smaller size:

Adobe Reader may scale pages (make them smaller) on printing, depending on the printer and print driver. This will make the font smaller and more difficult to read. To avoid this problem, make sure you choose “None” from the “Page Scaling:” drop-down list in the Reader’s Print dialog box. Once you click on the "None" setting, it should remain that way until you change it again.

The screen shot below is from Adobe Reader 8 on a PC. A Mac and earlier versions of the Reader may have slightly different options, but the main page scaling options are there.

Viewing a PDF Document on the Screen

You can change the size of the document on the screen to make it easier to read.

On the top menu bar, click View then Zoom (see example below):
  • Zoom To / The Zoom Value option changes the page view according to a percentage you type in or select from a pop-up menu.
  • Actual Size displays the page at 100% magnification.
  • Fit Page adjusts the magnification so that one page fills the document pane.
  • Fit Width / Fit Visible adjusts the magnification so that the PDF fills the document pane horizontally. Part of the page may be out of view.
  • Fit Height / Zoom To Page Level adjusts the magnification so that one page fills the document pane vertically. Part of the page may be out of view.
